katiemariie | A Few Belated Thoughts on Ronald Regan

I don't know much about Regan, as I was only alive for the end of his reign, but people seem to make a big deal about him. I should-- I live in Sacramento, where the dude's C-SPAN funeral was held. But I don't. I barely even watched his funeral, I was getting ready for commencement that morning. However, I never really brought forth my opinions on the late president. Here are my pros and cons. I'll start with the pros, because my therapist says I should be more positive.

PROS
-Born in Illinois, the most kick-ass state in the union, and my birthplace.
-Made B-movies.
-Made the adorable Alex P. Keaton possible, which I am eternally grateful.
-Was governor of California, which is where I currently preside. (Just thought of something. Reagan made bad movies, Arnold made bad movies. Wow. Who's next for California? Hilary Duff? *shudders*)
-Brought us yuppie greed. And I'm into any kind of greed. Except oil greed.
-Wife furthered stem cell research due to his Alzheimer's.
-Photogenic.
-Irish

CONS
-Republican.
-Started War on Drugs and filled prisons with maximum minimum sentences.
-Responsible for a stupid term like "maximum minimum sentences."
-Wife supported and appeared on "Diff'rent Strokes" and asked fourth graders if they did drugs. Some did. Now, I ask you, where are these nine-year-old crackheads?
-Wrinkly.
-Acted with monkey. Or was it a chimp? And why do I care?
